Meet Michelle

Michelle Kerby, MA, OTR/L
Pediatric Occupational Therapist


Michelle, has been a practicing Pediatric Occupational Therapist for over 20 years. Born and raised in New Jersey, she met and married her husband who is in the military. Michelle graduated from New York University in 2002 with her Master’s in Occupational Therapy. Michelle has years of experience working in pediatric settings including; public/charter schools, head start/early intervention programs, home-based/community settings, and play-based sensory clinics. These opportunities have allowed her to work with children with a wide variety of developmental delays, syndromes and diagnoses. Michelle has a passion for learning new treatment approaches and has dedicated her career to learning and incorporating these specialized approaches into her sessions.  She enjoys sharing her knowledge by mentoring fellow occupational therapists within the pediatric field. Michelle has worked extensively with infants through adolescents.  She specializes in working with children with tethered oral tissue and the symptoms/challenges that come along with the restrictions. Michelle understands and is able to treat the sensory and oral motor challenges that impact eating.  Her training and experience enable her to identify and effectively treat children who have challenges with bottle feeding, transitioning to purees/table foods, and eating a variety of foods effectively and efficiently. Michelle has trained extensively in the field of feeding and sensory processing disorders and has experience incorporating her knowledge and training from the SOFFI Method and she is “ Feed the Peds” trained. Michelle holds certifications in The SOS Feeding Approach and Beckman Oral Motor Intervention/Assessment. Michelle is an Advanced Pediatric Interactive Metronome Specialist and Basic Integrative Listening System (ILS) practitioner for Focus programs. She holds basic certifications in DIR/Floortime and Kinesiology taping. She also has training in Touch Massage, Handwriting Without Tears Program, and the Alert Program, and utilizes various other sensory integration techniques in her treatment sessions. 

Michelle is a mother of 2 children and has been married for 26 years! When not at work, Michelle enjoys reading and spending time with her family and 3 loveable dogs.
